Historic Winery near Verona
Azienda Agricola Begali Lorenzo is a family-run business: our vineyards, about 12 hectares are scattered between the hill and the pedemontana area, and located in a small village called Cengia, named after the rocks dotting the hill overlooking the town. Cengia is located in the heart of the classic Valpolicella, on the slopes of Castelrotto hill, in the town of San Pietro in Cariano, halfway between the city of Verona and Lake Garda. In the hilly area, called Monte Ca 'Bianca, is a section of our vineyards and here we select some of the grapes to produce a Cru di Amarone, which takes its name from the hill. The main indigenous grapes that contribute to the creation of our wines are the following: Corvina and Corvinone, Rondinella and other vines in limited quantities. Production is carefully undertaken in all its phases: from working the land to the cellar, and we are always dedicated to a continuous improvement of quality. Our company was established at the end of the last World War thanks to our grandfather Giordano, his son Lorenzo and his wife Adriana, who led the company to selling its very own bottles in 1986. This tradition continues today with the children Giordano and Tiliana collaborating in the company alongside their parents.
